OK I just found out that Mattel has released the images of their second wave of Barbie Glam dolls and I have to say they are getting better and better with the clothes. I am a little disappointed that they didn't release and AA dolls or any boys in this line up. Here are a few pics of the new dolls
I am just loving these new clothes . Take a look at Raquel's boots! I was like "OMG!" Midge looks adorable doesn't she! I think that Mattel is finally stepping up their fashion line and I think its because Barbie was going down hill and even though Monster High is from Mattel I think they were hurting Barbies sales. I will probably get these girls if the price is right!
Hola, tienes un gran blog, tus escenas son muy reales, las Barbies que presentas espero lleguen pronto a mi ciudad, saludos desde Mexico.
ReplyDeleteTienes un gran blog.!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! These are fabulous! I love every single one. I am so glad Mattel is listening. These new fashions are fabulous.....I can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this :)
This is much more like it, Mattel. :-) I'm disappointed they didn't include Nikki/Artsy as well or boys for that matter. I'm happy they've included Raquel but it baffles me that Mattel can't seem to include more than one ethnic group at a time. :-/ They got it right with the clothing and articulation. Let's hope they keep it up. Thanks for posting. :-)
ReplyDeleteI saw these dolls in Kmart love the clothes hated the price. I hope Walmart prices them lower then kmart when they hit the shelf.
ReplyDeleteI just don't know about these. I feel about them the way I did about the Stardolls. I'll probably just wait until they get super low, if they do, and get some them.
ReplyDeleteI know that the TRU where i am at sold out of these very quickly. If i did get these girls i would probably get them primarily for their clothes. I just wish Mattel would see that there is a huge opertunity here for making a better profit on Barbie.
DeleteThanks for sharing about this line. I like the articulated bodies and the more realistic fashions. Not crazy about the heads though ... they look a little big.
ReplyDeleteIs Raquelle supposed to be Asian American or is it that her head sculpt is also used for Asian American dolls? I'm fuzzy on that point ;-)
Happy New Year.

DeleteI'm not to sure on her head sculpt. I don't like their large heads either but the fashions are killer. I can only imagine if they did a couple ken dolls like these girls. Mattel needs to make more ethnic dolls because with the wide range of diversity the world has to offer there should be more!
FABULOUS! Loving all the outfits. I would need to get one of each. They definitely need to add Artsy back to the line, but since each girl has their own outfit, I would need to get them all anyway. It would have been nice for them to go back to the regular sized heads like they had for Barbie Basics. I also miss the variety of faces the Barbie Basics line had. But I'm not going to complain. Mattel is listening to the cry for better clothes. Hopefully people weren't expecting these clothes to cost the same as the glitter half clothes. I hear they are $19.99 at Target. That is a pretty good price. The Barbie Basics were $20 and they didn't even have articulation. The Barbie Look dolls were $25 without articulation. So to get a great outfit with great accessories and articulation, that is a step in the right direction. Again, hopefully people weren't expecting these dolls to cost $12 like the Fashionistas. "Better" usually comes with an upcharge. Let's be reasonable. Thanks for sharing. I'm super excited. Way to go Mattel. Now bring on Artsy and the boys!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on this one Vanessa, the clothes and articulated bodies are so worth every penny. I too wish that they would realize that boy dolls are important to. I hope that they add some single packs to this line with the same quality.
